Climate justice and the climate emergency can often seem like very big, complex, global issues. In this session, we will be hearing from B Corps The Social Innovation Partnership, Hubbub and Do Nation, who are encouraging people to take action in their local community and through individual actions.

Session Plan: In this session we will set the stage for the day's work by sharing the story of how the US/Canada B Corp Climate Collective got to where we are today. You will hear from founding members of the collective who will tell the story of our work to date. You will also meet your trail buddies who will support you throughout the day - sharing insights with each other and evaluating commitments together.

Session Plan: In this session we will center listening to and learning from climate justice on the frontline of this work. The panel will speak to key questions; What are the core interests we are seeking to meet in service of Climate Justice? What is the mindset shift for businesses can begin to embark on and model as a collective of B Corps? The panel will take questions from the group and build on the discussion begun during day 1. The 2040 journey began with award-winning director Damon Gameau (That Sugar Film). Motivated by concerns about the planet his 4-year-old daughter would inherit, Damon embarked on a global journey to meet innovators and changemakers in the areas of economics, technology, civil society, agriculture, education and sustainability. Drawing on their expertise, he sought to identify the best solutions, available to us now, that would help improve the health of our planet and the societies that operate within it. From marine permaculture to decentralised renewable energy projects, he discovered that people all over the world are taking matters into their own hands.

This journey is the central premise for the documentary ‘2040’, a story of hope that looks at the very real possibility that humanity could reverse global warming and improve the lives of every living thing in the process. It is a positive vision of what ‘could be’, instead of the dystopian future we are so often presented.
